Programs for U.S. Educators
The Fulbright Distinguished Awards in Teaching Research Program provides an opportunity for educators from the United States to take part in a three- to six-month professional learning experience abroad to conduct research and pursue additional learning. Participants conduct individual inquiry projects, take courses at a host university, and collaborate with colleagues on educational practices to improve student learning. Applications for the 2022 - 2023 Fulbright Distinguished Awards in Teaching Research Program are due by February 14, 2022!
The Fulbright Distinguished Awards in Teaching Short-Term Program sends expert K–12 educators from the United States to participating countries and territories to carry out short-term assignments abroad. Educators support and work in schools, teacher training colleges, government ministries, or educational nongovernmental organizations, as identified by U.S. embassies and Fulbright Commissions.
The Fulbright Teachers for Global Classrooms Program equips educators from the United States to bring an international perspective to their schools through targeted training, experience abroad, and global collaboration. This yearlong professional learning opportunity for K–12 educators features an intensive online course and a short international exchange. Applications for the 2022 - 2023 Fulbright Teachers for Global Classrooms Program are due by March 14, 2022!
Programs for Non-U.S. Educators
The Fulbright Teaching Excellence and Achievement Program brings international educators to the United States for a six-week professional learning program featuring academic seminars at a host university and co-teaching placements at area schools. Participants observe classrooms, team-teach, and share their expertise with educators and students at the host university and at a variety of public, private (secular or faith-based), or charter schools. Participants also take part in civic and cultural activities in their host communities. Application deadlines vary by country.
