Project Information

Background: In response to disruptions caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, teachers at the Daraga National High School carry out online, hybrid, radio-based, and other blended modalities to deliver the lessons. Almost 80% of the students and teachers follow a hybrid teaching-learning modality while the rest take classes online and over the radio. However, teachers at Daraga National High School, specifically those instructing Mathematics, lack the proper training, knowledge, and skills to effectively use ICT to conduct meaningful virtual instruction.

Goals: The Fulbright DAST participant will train Mathematics teachers at Daraga National High School and other schools in the area in best practices in using ICT and other virtual instructional tools to teach Mathematics. In addition, the Fulbright DAST participant will connect the Daraga National High School with schools and educational organizations in the United States.

Activities: Leading seminars, workshops or other teacher professional development for educators; Developing academic curricula or educational materials; Other education capacity building activities that meet host institution goals

Target Beneficiaries: Approximately 50 high-school-level Mathematics teachers

Qualifications of Selected Applicant

Teaching Level: Secondary (grades 7-12)

Years of Teaching Experience: 3+ years

Subject Area Expertise: Mathematics, ICT, Teacher Training, Technology/Computer Science
