- Who: Introduce yourself and your professional background, as well as the other school and community members impacted by your Fulbright experience.
- What: Share your story. Is this something you achieved during your Fulbright exchange, or after returning home? Tell us why it was important. Include details about your findings as well as the other school and community members involved.
- Where: Describe your community at home and abroad. What institutions and schools hosted you?
- When: What years did your program or follow-on activity take place?
- Why: Tell us why this experience was important for you or your students, peers, and community members. Why did you choose to apply for a Fulbright Teacher Exchange? Why do you want other people to hear your story?
- How: Describe how you've grown as an educator as a result of your Fulbright experience. What was it about your program that prepared you to achieve more after returning home? In other words, how has the experienced shaped you and those around you?
2. Tell Your Story
Use your narrative to honor and respect the culture and people of your host country, promoting dignity and understanding. Share stories that break the mold of assumptions, highlighting the complexities and nuances of your host country's culture.
Respectfully seek permission to share the stories and/or photos of those you interacted with, ensuring their voices are heard with respect and consideration. Consult with local experts to ensure your stories accurately represent the perspectives and experiences of the community.
